Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is set to reveal portraits of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Bharat Ratna Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya at the Delhi Legislative Assembly on Saturday. The portraits will be placed in the Assembly House to honor the significant contributions of these national icons to India’s democracy, education, culture, and public life, as stated by Speaker Vijender Gupta. Additionally, a coffee table book named ‘Bharat Mata’ will be launched during the event, showcasing Indian nationalism through art, architecture, and literature.
A high-level meeting was recently held by Speaker Vijender Gupta to discuss the arrangements for the program, which included senior officials from various departments such as Delhi Police, Public Works Department, Horticulture Department, Fire Services, and Health Department. The Speaker emphasized the importance of ensuring proper arrangements for the event, focusing on security, crowd management, traffic control, parking facilities, fire safety, and medical readiness.
The program is expected to be attended by around 1,000 individuals, and all relevant departments have been instructed to work together closely to ensure a secure and orderly event. Notable attendees will include Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Padma Bhushan Ram Bahadur Rai, Chairman of the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, Parvesh Verma, Delhi Minister for Legislative Affairs, and Mohan Singh Bisht, Deputy Speaker of the Delhi Legislative Assembly.
As part of the event, artists from Sahitya Kala Parishad will present a patriotic cultural program highlighting India’s rich artistic and national heritage.
