Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are set to take on 2022 winners Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2026 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. RCB topped the points table with nine wins from 14 league matches and secured their spot in the final by defeating Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 1.
RCB had a strong start to the season with wins against Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings. Despite a loss to Rajasthan Royals, they bounced back with victories over Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants. A defeat against Delhi Capitals was followed by a remarkable run of performances.
In the middle phase of the season, RCB faced challenges with consecutive losses to Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants. However, they responded with three successive wins to secure a playoff berth. RCB’s standout performance in Qualifier 1 saw them post a massive total of 254 runs against Gujarat Titans, securing a direct entry into the final with a 92-run victory.
RCB’s success has been fueled by collective efforts from their batsmen and bowlers. Former captain Virat Kohli led the run-scoring charts with 600 runs, while Skipper Rajat Patidar contributed 486 runs. In the bowling department, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Rasikh Salam have been instrumental with 26 and 16 wickets respectively.
As they aim for their second consecutive IPL title, RCB will look to maintain their winning momentum and secure another championship victory.
