Amid the controversy over a video involving former Delhi Chief Minister Atishi, Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta announced that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) would investigate the Punjab government’s Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL). Gupta emphasized the need for a thorough probe into the functioning and findings of the Punjab FSL in relation to the case.
Gupta revealed that following demands from the Opposition in the Delhi Assembly on January 8, 2026, a forensic examination of the video footage from the Assembly session was conducted by the FSL. The report from the laboratory confirmed the authenticity of the video, stating that there was no tampering or manipulation of any kind.
The Speaker highlighted that the Delhi Assembly unanimously agreed to the forensic examination of the video, but unexpected developments occurred during the process. Gupta expressed concerns over the examination conducted by the Punjab government, emphasizing the need for transparency and clarity in the investigative procedures.
Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra reacted to the FSL report, affirming the truth had prevailed in the matter. Mishra accused the Leader of the Opposition of wrongdoing in the Assembly and criticized AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal for allegedly misusing the Punjab Police to protect Atishi, whom he accused of disrespecting the Gurus.
