Hollywood actress Sophie Turner sustained a minor injury, leading to a temporary halt in the filming of the renowned series “Tomb Raider” created by Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
The injury prompted a brief production pause to allow Turner time to recuperate, as confirmed by the studio in a statement to deadline.com. It remains uncertain whether the injury occurred on set, with sources indicating a two-week shutdown period with continued crew payment.
Amazon MGM Studios, in collaboration with Crystal Dynamics, announced the commencement of production for “Tomb Raider” on Jan. 15. The series, featuring Turner as Lara Croft, is primarily being filmed in the UK.
“Tomb Raider” is an adaptation of the popular video game franchise centered around the exploits of Lara Croft, an archaeologist and adventurer. Since the franchise’s inception in 1996, Lara Croft has evolved into a significant icon within the video game industry.
