Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta has appointed 14 MLAs to represent the legislature in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi for the financial year 2026-2027. The nominated members include Satish Upadhyay, Umang Bajaj, Kartar Singh Tanwar, Ravinder Singh Negi, Raj Karan Khatri, Tilak Ram Gupta, Poonam Sharma, Som Dutt, Vishesh Ravi, Kailash Gangwal, Shyam Sharma, Kailash Gehlot, Kuldeep Solanki, and Virender Singh Kadyan.
The nomination of these legislators to the civic body precedes a One-Day Special Session of the Assembly scheduled by Speaker Gupta for Tuesday. During this session, discussions on women’s reservation and a resolution condemning certain parties for defeating an amendment bill in the Lok Sabha are expected.
Speaker Vijender Gupta has officially summoned the Fifth Session of the Eighth Legislative Assembly after receiving approval from Lt. Governor T.S. Sandhu. The Fourth Session of the Eighth Legislative Assembly has been prorogued by the L-G, marking the end of the prolonged Sessions and paving the way for a structured transition into the new session.
