Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta handed over a Coffee Table Book titled “Delhi Legislative Assembly presents Shatabdi-Yatra, Veer Vithalbhai Patel” to Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal. The book honors Vithalbhai Patel, the first Indian elected Speaker of the Central Legislative Assembly, documenting India’s parliamentary journey from 1925 to 2025.
The book serves as a tribute to Vitthalbhai Jhaverbhai Patel, recognizing his role in shaping India’s modern parliamentary traditions. Minister Manohar Lal highlighted ongoing development projects worth around Rs 72,000 crore in Delhi, with additional initiatives in the pipeline for the National Capital. He also mentioned plans to enhance connectivity through the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) from Panipat to Karnal.
Delhi Assembly Speaker Gupta emphasized that the Coffee Table Book encapsulates a century-long narrative of India’s legislative and democratic evolution. It features rare archival photos, historic documents, and significant moments that have influenced Indian democracy since the early 20th century. The book notably documents the 2025 All India Speakers’ Conference, commemorating 100 years since Vithalbhai Patel’s historic election as the first Indian Speaker of the Central Legislative Assembly.
