Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta reaffirmed her government’s dedication to enhancing the Ease of Doing Business framework. She mentioned that GST refunds totaling Rs 915 crore have been disbursed to traders in Delhi over the last four months. Gupta, speaking at the centenary celebrations of the Friends Colony Industrial Area, emphasized the government’s focus on fostering business growth and boosting job opportunities.
Three new industrial areas are in the pipeline for development in Delhi, aiming to create job prospects for a large number of individuals. Gupta highlighted that within a span of 10 months, the government has implemented significant reforms in the industrial sector. These reforms include streamlining licensing procedures and introducing a single-window clearance system for quicker and more transparent approvals.
Union Minister of State Harsh Malhotra, along with Delhi Cabinet Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa and other officials, attended the event. Gupta underscored the importance of the industrial sector in India’s progress, stating that it plays a crucial role in bolstering the economy and providing livelihoods to numerous families. She also mentioned the establishment of Delhi’s first Traders’ Welfare Board to facilitate direct communication between traders, industrial stakeholders, and the government.
Collateral-free loans up to Rs 10 crore have been made accessible for micro and small enterprises, Gupta informed. She further highlighted the government’s efforts to expedite the GST refund process through faceless operations. As a result, GST refunds amounting to Rs 915 crore have been issued to traders in Delhi over the past four months. Gupta also stressed the significance of workers in the industrial sector and expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Modi for implementing new labor laws aimed at enhancing social security for workers.
