Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta initiated the construction of a Foot Over Bridge (FOB) near Ladakh Budh Vihar on Outer Ring Road at Kashmere Gate, with an estimated cost of Rs 3 crore. This project addresses a longstanding demand of local residents, enhancing safety and convenience in the area. The bridge aims to facilitate safe crossing for visitors to Ladakh Budh Vihar and the Monastery Market.
Bharatiya Janata Party MP Praveen Khandelwal, Delhi Minister Parvesh Verma, and other dignitaries attended the event alongside the Chief Minister. The bridge’s design incorporates Ladakhi architectural elements, blending modern facilities with the cultural identity of the region. Special lifts will be installed to cater to the needs of elderly, disabled individuals, and pregnant women.
Chief Minister Gupta highlighted Delhi’s diverse and harmonious community, emphasizing the peaceful coexistence of various cultures within the city. She underscored the long-standing presence of Ladakhi families in Delhi, promoting harmony through the teachings of Lord Buddha. The government’s commitment to the welfare and development of all communities while preserving cultural traditions was reiterated.
