Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta criticized the former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government for prioritizing advertisements over public needs. She highlighted the neglect of Mehrauli’s heritage and citizens’ aspirations while inaugurating projects exceeding Rs 100 crore in south Delhi. Gupta emphasized the current BJP government’s focus on good governance and development to overcome the inertia caused by the previous administration.
In a social media post, Chief Minister Gupta announced projects worth over Rs 135 crore for the development of the Mehrauli Assembly constituency. She stressed the importance of community development in achieving a prosperous Delhi, with Mehrauli making significant progress in this direction. Gupta underscored the blend of historical preservation and modern amenities to enhance the area’s heritage and future prospects.
Taking a dig at the AAP government under Arvind Kejriwal, Gupta criticized their emphasis on image-building through advertisements rather than genuine service. She contrasted their power-centric politics with the current administration’s focus on public welfare, effective governance, and progress. The projects launched during the event were described as concrete steps towards improving cleanliness, infrastructure, and the overall quality of life for residents.
During the inauguration, Delhi CM Gupta was joined by area MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, MLA Gajendra Singh Yadav, former Councillor Aarti Singh Yadav, zonal presidents, and local dignitaries, emphasizing a collaborative approach to community development.
