A Delhi court has extended the police custody of four terror suspects connected to Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and the Mumbai underworld network. The suspects, identified as Harvinder Singh, Manjeet Singh, Gagandeep Singh, and Ang Kami Lama, are accused of plotting terror attacks in major Indian cities. The court granted a five-day extension for their custodial interrogation to aid further investigation under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
The Delhi Police informed the court that the accused face charges related to terrorist acts, fundraising for terrorist activities, and conspiracy. The Special Cell emphasized the need for continued custodial interrogation to uncover the broader conspiracy and identify their alleged handlers in Pakistan. The investigation is focused on unraveling the network behind the module and gathering information on its alleged cross-border connections.
Investigators believe the accused were acting on behalf of Pakistan-based operatives and were part of a plot to carry out terror-related activities in India. The case involves an alleged Pakistan-backed terror module with operational ties to the D-Company network led by underworld figure Dawood Ibrahim. Coordinated operations across Delhi and several northern states resulted in the arrest of the suspects and the seizure of arms and ammunition, including Pakistan-manufactured hand grenades, Glock pistols, and live cartridges.
The probe disclosed that the terror module conducted surveillance of sensitive locations such as government installations, security establishments, and crowded religious sites in Delhi, Mumbai, and Punjab as part of a larger conspiracy.
