Delhi Health Minister Pankaj Singh stated that all hospitals in the national capital have been directed to be fully ready for heatwave-related emergencies as temperatures rise. Hospitals are equipped with ORS, emergency beds, specialist doctors, and essential medical supplies. Singh emphasized that hospitals, including polyclinics and Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, are operational and ready to handle any heatwave-related crises.
The minister urged residents to avoid unnecessary outdoor activities during peak afternoon hours to stay safe. The India Meteorological Department has issued a ‘yellow alert’ for Delhi-NCR for the next three days, with temperatures expected to reach 44 degrees Celsius. Residents are advised to remain cautious, especially during peak heatwave conditions, and stay hydrated to prevent heat-related illnesses.
The IMD forecasts a maximum temperature of 44 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 30-31 degrees Celsius for the upcoming days. Heatwave conditions are expected to persist, with strong surface winds intensifying the hot weather. Authorities warn of heatstroke and dehydration risks, urging people to take precautions and avoid prolonged outdoor exposure.
