The Delhi High Court has permitted activist Sonam Wangchuk to move from Safdarjung Hospital to Medanta Hospital. Doctors reached a consensus that Wangchuk needs continuous medical monitoring. A panel of doctors will oversee his treatment at the private hospital.

Wangchuk will be shifted to Medanta Hospital, his chosen facility, for treatment. All treatment details from Safdarjung Hospital will be shared with Medanta. A panel of doctors will be formed by the director of Medanta for his care.

The court noted that medical experts agreed on the need for constant observation of Wangchuk’s condition. The decision to transfer him to Medanta was based on this consensus. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta confirmed the government’s approval for Wangchuk’s move to Medanta.

Mehta emphasized that Wangchuk should not be discharged against medical advice from Medanta. He expressed concern over Wangchuk’s low Total Leukocyte Count (TLC) of 2.9, which poses serious health risks. The government’s primary focus is on Wangchuk’s well-being.
