After Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s announcement regarding the establishment of fast-track courts to expedite trials in paper leak cases, the Delhi High Court has formed a specialized Fast Track Court. This court will exclusively handle offenses under the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024, and related cases. Chief Justice D.K. Upadhyaya has appointed judicial officer Anu Grover Baliga as the Special CBI Judge for this newly designated Fast Track Court at the Rouse Avenue Courts Complex.

The newly established court will focus on adjudicating cases under the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024, along with associated offenses. It will operate under the administrative jurisdiction of the Principal District and Sessions Judge-cum-Special CBI Judge at the Rouse Avenue Courts Complex. Additionally, all pending cases registered under the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024, and connected offenses will be transferred to this Fast Track Court immediately.

In response to Prime Minister Modi’s initiative to ensure swift justice and severe penalties for individuals involved in exam paper leaks, the Delhi High Court swiftly acted to establish this specialized court. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of protecting the interests and future of the youth and warned against any actions that could jeopardize their prospects. The Union government has also initiated the process of setting up similar fast-track courts in various states to address paper leak cases effectively.
