Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena, in his address on the first day of the Assembly’s Winter Session, criticized the previous AAP government for “inertia and negativity.” He emphasized the Delhi government’s accomplishments in its initial 10 months, focusing on key sectors like Infrastructure, Education, Health, and Women’s Welfare.
Saxena commended the government’s efforts in e-governance, simplifying laws, and initiatives such as e-buses and health infrastructure improvements. He acknowledged ongoing challenges, stating the government is resolute in overcoming them with transparency and collective effort.
The LG lauded the government’s transparent governance initiatives, particularly in streamlining business processes and introducing reforms to attract investments. Notable improvements include integrating 75 e-District services with Citizen Service Centres and simplifying procedures for various licenses.
Saxena highlighted significant reforms, including amendments to labor laws and the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. He underscored the government’s commitment to pollution control and emphasized the importance of public involvement in ensuring clean air for all citizens.
The Assembly session is set to address critical issues like air pollution, environmental concerns, and CAG reports related to the ‘Sheesh Mahal’ and the Delhi Jal Board. The Winter Session, continuing until January 8, will feature debates on these pressing matters, including the presentation of the Delhi Budget by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.
