Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta highlighted the ongoing expansion of the Delhi Metro network, emphasizing its role in revolutionizing the city’s transportation. Inspecting the venue for an upcoming event to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Gupta expressed that these new Metro projects signify a significant advancement towards a faster, smoother, and eco-friendly public transport system in Delhi.
The new Metro corridors, including the Majlis Park–Maujpur-Babarpur section (Pink Line) and the Deepali Chowk–Majlis Park section (Magenta Line), are set to be inaugurated by PM Modi. Chief Minister Gupta underlined that these projects aim not only to enhance commuter convenience but also to alleviate road congestion caused by private vehicles and contribute to pollution control efforts.
With the introduction of the Majlis Park–Maujpur-Babarpur corridor, the Pink Line’s total length will extend to around 71.56 kilometers, establishing Delhi’s first fully operational ‘Ring Metro’. This expansion is anticipated to facilitate quicker and more convenient travel within the capital, offering improved connectivity to regions in North-East and North-West Delhi.
