Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra expressed confidence that India would eliminate Urban Naxals, drawing parallels to the government’s success in combating Naxalism. Mishra commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for their efforts against the Maoists. He highlighted the significant reduction in Naxalism as announced by Home Minister Shah in the Lok Sabha recently.
Mishra reflected on the past, noting the previous threats of a ‘Red Corridor’ by Naxal groups and the sacrifices made by soldiers in combating the menace. He credited the current government’s operations for India’s progress in curbing Naxal activities. Mishra acknowledged the remaining presence of Urban Naxals but expressed optimism that the nation would overcome this challenge as well.
Regarding the ongoing Indraprastha Culture Festival, Mishra emphasized the importance of uncovering Delhi’s hidden history. He praised the event for fostering discussions on history, art, and culture, showcasing a condensed version of India. Mishra invited people to participate in the three-day festival at the India Habitat Centre, where prominent figures from various fields have gathered.
