Delhi’s Minister for Social Welfare, Ravinder Indraj Singh, emphasized that severe action will be taken against individuals using derogatory language towards Sikh Gurus. He stated that disrespect towards saints and Gurus, who have made significant sacrifices for the nation and faith, will not be tolerated. The Minister highlighted the government’s commitment to safeguarding India’s cultural values and traditions.
His remarks underscored the condemnation of any offensive comments directed at revered Gurus or saints, emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy. He stressed the importance of respecting religious sentiments for maintaining social harmony. The Minister affirmed that strict measures would be enforced against those responsible for such remarks, irrespective of political affiliations.
Following protests by BJP MLAs in the Delhi Assembly regarding alleged remarks made by an Aam Aadmi Party leader, the Minister emphasized the need to avoid politicizing sensitive issues. He criticized the Opposition for diverting attention from critical matters like pollution control. The Minister questioned the seriousness of the Opposition in addressing public health concerns, accusing the previous government of neglecting pollution control.
Addressing the issue of encroachments, the Minister reiterated that such illegal activities cannot be condoned. He clarified that the administration is acting in compliance with legal directives to tackle encroachments effectively. The Minister emphasized that encroachments pose a public inconvenience and should not be politicized, as the administration is solely fulfilling its legal obligations.
