Delhi Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta recently unveiled the ‘Shri Parth-Sarathi Rath’ at Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg near Delhi Gate. The artistic installation, crafted by the Delhi Public Works Department (PWD), aims to enhance the city’s aesthetics. Both officials emphasized the importance of beautification projects in creating a visually appealing and culturally rich environment.

The Lieutenant Governor highlighted the collaborative effort to transform Delhi into a well-planned city, emphasizing the government’s commitment to development initiatives. Chief Minister Gupta reiterated the government’s dedication to maintaining a clean and attractive capital. She emphasized the significance of projects like park development and artistic installations in preserving Delhi’s cultural heritage and identity.

The event was attended by Delhi Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh, Jangpura BJP MLA Tarvinder Singh Marwah, and other dignitaries. L-G Saxena commended the PWD team for their meticulous work on the durable structure, which is expected to last around 50 years. The installation not only adds to the city’s charm but also serves as a landmark for residents and tourists alike.

Chief Minister Gupta stressed the historical and cultural importance of the Delhi Gate-Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg area. She highlighted the symbolic significance of the Parth-Sarathi Rath in enhancing the area’s visual appeal and historical essence. The project aligns with the government’s focus on providing citizens with clean and aesthetically pleasing public spaces, enhancing the urban environment and public experience.

Efforts to beautify Delhi and establish its global identity are evident in projects like the ‘Shri Parth-Sarathi Rath.’ The installation, constructed from 316-grade stainless steel, stands at 30 feet by 20 feet and weighs approximately 5,500 kg. Equipped with spotlights and floodlights for nighttime illumination, the structure is set to become a new attraction for residents and tourists. Landscaping and horticulture work around the installation further enhance its visual appeal.
