The Delhi Police, as part of their zero tolerance policy against narcotic drugs and drug trafficking, apprehended 16 individuals and seized drugs during an operation named ‘Operation Kavach-14.0’. Various units including the Anti-Narcotics Squad, Special Staff, and local Police Stations in West District conducted targeted raids and surveillance to combat drug peddlers and traffickers.
Thirteen cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act were filed, leading to the arrest of 16 suspects, including two women. The operations resulted in the confiscation of significant amounts of drugs, such as 32.161 kg of ganja, 89.77 grams of smack, 9.8 grams of cocaine, and 6.62 grams of MDMA, along with other items like a three-wheeler, a Scooty, a mobile phone, and Rs 1,450 in cash.
The Anti-Narcotics Squad made a major seizure of 23.160 kg of ganja, classified as a commercial quantity, resulting in the arrest of four individuals. Additionally, separate cases were registered by different units, leading to the recovery of various drugs like MDMA, cocaine, and smack, with corresponding arrests made across different police stations in the West District.
The police emphasized their commitment to eradicating the drug menace and disrupting narcotics supply chains through intelligence-driven policing and coordinated enforcement efforts under Operation Kavach-14.0. Investigations are ongoing to apprehend other individuals involved in drug trafficking activities.
