Delhi Police’s East District unit apprehended a 20-year-old named Prem and a 17-year-old juvenile in connection with a robbery near Sanjay Lake in Pandav Nagar. The accused duo, including Prem from Jawahar Mohalla in Shashi Garden, were found with the robbed Oppo mobile phone and handbag of the complainant. The robbery occurred on May 10 when the complainant, Nikita, was at Sanjay Lake with a friend and was robbed of her belongings by two unidentified boys.

Following the incident, an FIR was lodged at the Pandav Nagar Police Station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The police investigation revealed the use of criminal force during the robbery, leading to the addition of robbery sections. A dedicated police team, under the supervision of Dara Singh and ACP Amandeep Kaur, examined CCTV footage and relied on local intelligence to identify the accused.

Prem, a suspect in the case, was frequently seen with the juvenile accomplice who was also missing from his residence. Acting on specific information, the police team apprehended the accused duo near Sanjay Lake on May 12. Initially, the accused tried to mislead investigators but later confessed to their involvement in the robbery. Prem, a school dropout and alleged drug addict, had a previous case registered against him at the Pandav Nagar Police Station.

Further investigation into the matter is ongoing.
