Delhi Police apprehended a 25-year-old bootlegger and seized 250 quarter bottles of illegal alcohol during a special operation conducted by the Nand Nagri Police Station team. The operation was based on specific intelligence about illicit liquor supply in the area. Constable Nempal and Constable Rohan, on patrol duty in the D-Block area of Nand Nagri, received information from a reliable informant on July 26 at around 8:05 p.m.

The informant tipped off the police that a man carrying illicit liquor on a scooty would be arriving from the Mandoli Flyover side to distribute liquor in the locality. Acting swiftly on this information, the police team, under the direction of the Station House Officer (SHO), set up a checkpoint near Kali Mata Mandir in Nand Nagri. They successfully intercepted the suspect, matching the informant’s description, who was transporting suspicious bags on a scooty.

The arrested individual, identified as Dev Koli, a 25-year-old resident of B-2/423, Nand Nagri, Delhi, was found with 250 quarter bottles of illicit liquor in his possession. A case has been filed against him under FIR No. 409/2026 under Section 33 of the Delhi Excise Act at Nand Nagri Police Station. Dev Koli, during interrogation, reportedly admitted his involvement in the illegal liquor trade and provided information about the liquor’s source.

The police confiscated the scooty used for transporting the illegal liquor, noting that the accused has no prior criminal record. Authorities are currently conducting further investigations to uncover the source of the illicit alcohol and identify other individuals linked to the illegal supply network.
