In a move against street crime, the Police Station Mandawali staff in Delhi apprehended two individuals for stealing mobile phones. The accused, identified as 26-year-old Manish and 30-year-old Muzhar, were involved in snatching and buying stolen phones, respectively. The recovery of three gadgets and a stolen motorcycle led to the resolution of three criminal cases.
An online e-FIR was filed at Mandawali police station after a mobile phone snatching incident. The complainant, Durgesh Singh, was robbed of his phone by a motorcycle rider near Deshbandhu Apartments. Subsequently, the case details were revised during the investigation.
A dedicated police team, led by Inspector Anil Malik, worked on the case under the guidance of ACP/Sub Division Mayur Vihar Yogesh Malhotra. Through technical surveillance and field work, the team apprehended Manish near Patparganj area with a stolen motorcycle. The motorcycle was linked to the snatching incident.
Accused Manish admitted to the crime during interrogation, revealing his involvement and the sale of the stolen phone to Muzhar. Muzhar, known for buying stolen phones, was also arrested, leading to the recovery of three stolen mobiles. Further investigations are ongoing to determine their involvement in other crimes and identify additional accomplices.
