The Delhi Police’s Dwarka district unit conducted significant operations resulting in the arrest of two high-profile offenders. The first arrest was of Rizwan, a 35-year-old resident of Mohan Garden, Uttam Nagar, who had been evading trial in a case under the Negotiable Instruments Act. Rizwan was declared a proclaimed offender by the Dwarka Court on January 13.
A dedicated team led by Insp. Harish Kumar arrested Rizwan based on specific information received by HC Kulwant Singh. Rizwan was apprehended in the Sec-10 Dwarka area. Authorities confirmed that Rizwan had no prior criminal record.
In a separate operation, the Dwarka Police apprehended Prashant, an interstate illicit liquor supplier, near Transport Authority, Sector 10, Dwarka. Prashant attempted to flee but was caught with 40 cartons of illicit liquor in his Mahindra XUV500 car. Prashant, who has previous involvement in cases under the Delhi Excise Act and the NDPS Act, used a luxury SUV to smuggle liquor into Delhi and Haryana.
Both arrests were part of the police’s ongoing efforts to target proclaimed offenders and interstate illegal liquor suppliers. The police emphasized their commitment to further investigation, underscoring their dedication to combatting criminal activities and ensuring accountability.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Dwarka District, Ankit Singh, praised the teams’ coordinated efforts, highlighting the importance of technical intelligence and on-ground surveillance in the successful operations.
