Delhi Police have apprehended two suspects and confiscated the Mercedes used in the assault on a senior army officer and his son. One of the accused, Satender alias Sonu, is a director at Chaudhary Aviation Pvt Ltd, while the other, Sanjay Sharma, runs Pandit Ji Dhaba. Both suspects are currently under police investigation.
Earlier, Lt Governor T.S. Sandhu expressed grave concern over the incident in Vasant Enclave and has instructed Delhi Police to ensure the safety of the officer and his family. He personally contacted the Brigadier to inquire about the incident and their well-being. The Lt Governor also directed the authorities to conduct a thorough investigation and take swift action against those responsible.
An FIR has been filed, and the police are looking into alleged delays in their initial response to the incident. The assault occurred when the Brigadier and his son confronted individuals consuming alcohol near their residence, leading to a physical altercation. The officer’s family criticized the police for delayed action, prompting intervention by army officials.
