The AGS Crime Branch of Delhi Police has made a significant breakthrough by apprehending Rahul alias Dahur alias Raju Mukhiya, a proclaimed offender and alleged key figure of the Mukhiya gang. Rahul, a resident of Madhubani in Bihar, was captured in the Nangli area of Dwarka in Delhi after a targeted operation and sustained surveillance by the Crime Branch. He had been avoiding legal proceedings in multiple jurisdictions and was declared a proclaimed offender in various cases in Delhi and Haryana.
Officials disclosed that Rahul is implicated in numerous organized house robbery and theft cases and is believed to be the main operator of the Mukhiya gang. The gang reportedly followed a meticulously planned approach involving infiltration into homes through placements of domestic help.
The gang members would secure positions as servants or maids in affluent households through placement agencies, build trust with the families, gather information about valuables and household routines, and then carry out robberies. The thefts were usually executed when the houses were unoccupied or at strategic times, sometimes with the help of insiders who assisted in identifying targets and timings.
A specialized team from the Anti-Gangster Squad (AGS) of the Crime Branch, led by Insp. Krishan Kumar under the supervision of ACP/AGS Bhagwati Prasad and senior officers including DCP/Crime Branch Harsh Indora, conducted the operation. Acting on specific intelligence, the team set a trap in the Nangli area, leading to the successful apprehension of Rahul during surveillance.
Authorities mentioned that Rahul has a criminal history spanning over a decade, during which he allegedly expanded his network by recruiting individuals from different states to carry out coordinated thefts. Investigations are ongoing to identify other associates of the gang and to uncover the full scope of its activities.
