The Delhi Police apprehended a shooter associated with the Rohit Godara-Goldy Brar-Virender Charan gang and found a loaded semi-automatic pistol at his hideout in Sainik Vihar, Delhi. The arrested individual, identified as Deepak alias Dilawar, led the police to the weapon. A case under the Arms Act has been filed at the Special Cell police station regarding this incident.
The gang, involving Rohit Godara, Goldy Brar, and Virender Charan, has been active in making extortion calls in various regions including Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Punjab, which has raised concerns among law enforcement agencies. In a specific case in December 2025, Virender Charan allegedly demanded Rs 10 crore from a jeweler in Delhi, leading to a case being registered at the Amar Colony police station.
Following investigations, five individuals, including Pankaj Rajput, were arrested. Pankaj Rajput, a notorious criminal with over 20 cases against him in Punjab, played a significant role in the gang’s activities. The arrest of Deepak Kumar, one of the shooters involved in an attack on Bakshi Travel Company in Punjab, was a result of intensive efforts by police teams in Punjab and Uttar Pradesh.
Deepak Kumar, during interrogation, revealed that the illegal weapon was provided by Pankaj Rajput and that he received direct instructions from Virender Charan to carry out the attack. The shooter also disclosed plans of the gang to expand operations in Delhi under Virender Charan’s directions. A fresh case under the Arms Act has been initiated against Deepak Kumar at the Special Cell police station.
