In a significant move against organized crime, Delhi Police’s Dwarka district unit apprehended two suspected active criminals associated with the Neeraj Bawana gang. The arrests were made during an operation conducted by the Bindapur police station team as part of the ongoing ‘No Guns, No Gangs’ campaign. The police recovered illegal arms and ammunition, including a semi-automatic pistol and four live cartridges, from the possession of the arrested individuals.
The arrested suspects, identified as Pardeep Singh (31) and Ashish (32) from Sonipat, Haryana, were taken into custody following specific intelligence received on April 15. The police team set up a trap in the Matiyala area and intercepted a black Verna car in which the suspects were traveling. A search of the vehicle led to the seizure of a semi-automatic Brata pistol, manufactured in Italy, along with four live cartridges.
The operation, carried out under the supervision of senior officers led by DCP Dwarka Kushal Pal Singh, is part of a stringent approach to combat crime. The initiative aims to crack down on the illegal circulation of firearms and dismantle gang networks operating in the region. The arrested individuals confessed to having ties to the Neeraj Bawana gang and disclosed that one of them sought revenge for a past gang-related killing of a relative.
A case has been registered under the Arms Act at Bindapur police station, and further investigations are ongoing to uncover additional links and potential plans associated with the detained individuals.
