In a significant move against narcotics, the Delhi Police’s East District personnel dismantled an inter-state drug syndicate and apprehended three alleged drug traffickers. Among those arrested is a key supplier from Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly district. The police seized 195.56 grams of smack/heroin, valued at around Rs 25 lakh in the international illicit market, along with a scooty used for transporting the narcotics.
A special anti-drug campaign is ongoing in the East District, focusing on identifying drug suppliers, carriers, and peddlers operating across state borders. The Anti-Narcotics Squad, led by Inspector Arun Kumar and supervised by ACP Operations Pawan Kumar, intensified intelligence gathering to combat drug trafficking activities. The team received specific information leading to the arrest of Sarvesh, a suspected drug supplier, near Ghazipur Dumping Yard.
Sarvesh, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, disclosed information during interrogation that led to the arrest of Abrar, the main source of the drugs, in Bareilly district. The police also apprehended Sahil, a receiver and peddler of the narcotics, in Delhi. The arrested individuals confessed to their roles in the organized drug syndicate, operating across states for financial gain by exploiting addiction vulnerabilities.
The trio arrested in connection with the drug syndicate are Sarvesh, a 22-year-old from Shahjahanpur; Sahil, a 24-year-old resident of Delhi; and Abrar, a 40-year-old from Bareilly district. Delhi Police emphasized its commitment to eradicating narcotics through continued operations and urged citizens to report any suspicious drug-related activities.
