In a recent enforcement operation, the Delhi Police Central District carried out a 48-hour crackdown named ‘Operation Kavach 13.0,’ resulting in 452 arrests, 1,930 detentions, and 283 raids across the district. The operation, conducted from March 29 to March 31, targeted narcotics traffickers, illicit liquor suppliers, illegal arms carriers, gamblers, and other anti-social elements. Supervised by Deputy Commissioner of Police Rohit Rajbir Singh, the operation involved all 15 police stations in the Central District and specialized units.
A total of 110 dedicated teams were deployed for Intelligence-based raids at identified hotspots, including slum clusters, industrial zones, and liquor supply routes. Key features included round-the-clock naka checking, mobile patrolling, real-time coordination between Station House Officers (SHOs) and specialized units, and continuous surveillance on repeat offenders. Under the NDPS Act, 37 cases were registered, leading to the apprehension of 59 individuals and the seizure of drugs like ganja, heroin, and smack.
The enforcement efforts also led to arrests under the Arms Act, with weapons like knives, pistols, and live cartridges recovered. Additionally, police apprehended individuals involved in gambling and auto-lifting activities, recovering stolen vehicles. Preventive measures resulted in numerous arrests under various sections of the law, emphasizing the police’s commitment to maintaining public safety and curbing criminal activities.
