The Delhi Police Crime Branch apprehended Anish alias Ishwar Dayal, a 23-year-old resident of Narela, who had been evading authorities since March 7. Anish was sought in connection with an attempted murder case registered under FIR No. 119/2026, involving sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act. He has been taken into custody under Section 35(1)(C) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).
A dedicated team from the Crime Branch, RK Puram, headed by Inspector Rampal, arrested Anish. The team, comprising SI Amit Kumar, ASI Ankit, and Head Constables Ashish and Dharmender, operated under the supervision of ACP Umesh Barthwal and DCP (Crime) Pankaj Kumar.
The case stems from an incident on March 6, where a woman in Narela reported that two individuals on a motorcycle threatened her at her water plant. One of them brandished a pistol, fired a shot near the premises, and issued threats, prompting panic. Following the complaint, a case was filed at Narela police station, leading to the arrest of one suspect, Piyush, while Anish, the main shooter, remained at large.
Efforts to locate Anish intensified, resulting in his discovery in Delhi on March 18. An operation was swiftly executed by the police, culminating in Anish’s arrest without incident. During initial questioning, Anish admitted to his role in the crime, citing a desire to assert dominance in the area and settle a prior dispute involving an associate and an individual named Rohit.
Anish, described as a school dropout up to Class 9 and presently unemployed, resides with his family in Narela. Allegedly drawn into criminal activities by the allure of power and quick gains, Anish confessed to orchestrating the attack to intimidate the victim and disrupt her business. The Delhi Police Crime Branch continues its efforts to combat serious crimes, pursue fugitives, and dismantle criminal networks through a combination of technical surveillance and human intelligence. Legal proceedings against Anish are ongoing.
