The Delhi Police recently captured two Bangladeshi nationals, Rahul Amin and Jibon Miah, in North-West Delhi’s Azadpur area. Amin, aged 25, is from Ashra village in Dhaka, while Miah, aged 36, hails from Hari Nagar village in the Brahmanbaria region. The individuals possessed Bangladeshi IDs and had a banned IMO application on their smartphones.
Ruhul Amin had been deported previously but re-entered the country illegally. He was first apprehended by the Foreigner Cell in June 2025 and deported. However, he managed to return and was caught near Mahendra Park. Acting on specific intelligence, the police detained the two Bangladeshi nationals in Azadpur. They were found residing in North-West District without valid travel documents.
Further investigation revealed that the detainees disguised themselves as transgender individuals at night to lure customers and allegedly used chilli spray to rob them. A chilli spray was recovered from Amin’s possession. Jibon Miah worked as a cook, and both were living together. Legal proceedings have been initiated, and they were presented before the Foreign Regional Registration Office for deportation.
