Delhi Police announced the recovery of 168 lost mobile phones within the past 15 days through ‘Operation Vishwas’. Out of these, 88 phones have been returned to their rightful owners after verification and completion of necessary procedures. The operation was carried out by a specialized team involving officials from the Special Staff and nodal officers from each police station in the Central District.
The recovered phones were scattered in various locations and states. By collaborating with local authorities and employing technical analysis and digital tracking, the police managed to trace and retrieve devices from different regions, including Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and other parts of the country. The success of the operation was attributed to meticulous technical analysis and digital tracking, which helped in identifying the movement and current locations of the lost phones.
Efforts to unblock the mobile phones were successful, allowing for their restoration and return to the rightful owners. After confirming ownership and completing necessary formalities, 88 mobile phones were handed back to their owners. The recovered phones contained important personal and professional data, financial applications, and cherished memories, with owners expressing gratitude for the police’s dedicated work.
Delhi Police highlighted the significance of teamwork, technical expertise, and persistent field efforts in achieving concrete outcomes in public service. In a previous instance between June 1 and 10, the police had recovered 71 stolen mobile phones, returning 45 to their owners. The remaining recovered phones are currently under verification for return.
