The Delhi Police dismissed social media reports of stone-pelting and police intervention as untrue, cautioning against sharing unverified content. DCP New Delhi clarified that no such incidents occurred and urged reliance on official sources for accurate updates. This statement followed ongoing protests at Jantar Mantar after clashes during the ‘Sansad Chalo’ march.

Thousands of supporters of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) and students marched towards Parliament from Jantar Mantar, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged exam irregularities. Prohibitory orders were imposed, and barricades set up to block the march’s progress towards Parliament. Despite security actions, protesters returned to Jantar Mantar the next day to continue their demonstration.

CJP spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka vowed to sustain the protest until Pradhan resigns, alleging police mistreatment of demonstrators during the previous day’s confrontation. Ranka criticized the police’s actions as brutal and claimed that several individuals, including women like Geetanjali J. Angmo, were mishandled during the clashes. The movement plans to expand its participation in response to what it perceives as excessive police force.
