The Delhi Police successfully rescued a 17-year-old girl who was lured to Delhi under the guise of a job opportunity. The swift operation by the women patrolling team of Mahila Chowki, Central District, led to the arrest of the accused, preventing a serious crime. The victim, hailing from Darbhanga district in Bihar, sought help from the police team on April 2, revealing her ordeal.

The minor girl had left her home following a domestic dispute on March 14 and traveled to Delhi based on a friend’s advice. Upon her arrival at New Delhi Railway Station, she was taken to the accused’s residence in Nehru Vihar. The victim stayed there from March 15 to April 2, believing she would be offered domestic work. Allegations surfaced that the accused, Shivji Das, behaved inappropriately with her during this period.

The victim, feeling unsafe, sought help from a passing women police team on April 2. The police promptly intervened, apprehending the accused at the scene. Further investigation revealed that the accused was attempting to sell the minor, a plan thwarted by the timely police action. An FIR has been registered based on the victim’s statement, and she has undergone medical examination and placed in a shelter home for safety.

Police have arrested Shivji Das, the accused, who hails from Darbhanga, Bihar. The case is under ongoing investigation to ensure justice is served.
