In a commendable feat, the Anti Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of Delhi Police’s Outer North District successfully located and rescued a young girl who had gone missing. The girl, aged 13, was found on June 19 as part of the team’s diligent efforts in a case registered at Alipur Police Station. Following her safe recovery, she was handed over to the authorities for further legal procedures.
Led by Inspector Pramod, the AHTU team, including ASI Sanjay, Head Constable Sandeep, Woman Head Constable Suman, and Woman Head Constable Seema, utilized technical surveillance and thorough fieldwork to trace the missing minor. The girl, a resident of Delhi, had been reported missing earlier, prompting swift action by the police.
The successful recovery underscores the Outer North District Police’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding women and children. It also emphasizes the district police’s continuous endeavors to locate missing individuals promptly. Human trafficking, a grave offense globally, involves various forms of exploitation and remains a significant concern affecting people from diverse backgrounds.
To combat human trafficking effectively, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) established the Anti-Trafficking Nodal Cell in 2006, facilitating coordination with state authorities and enhancing anti-trafficking measures nationwide. Regular coordination meetings with Anti Human Trafficking Units from all states and Union Territories are conducted to bolster anti-trafficking efforts across the country.
