The Delhi Shabdotsav 2026, a three-day Indian literary and cultural festival, will kick off at the National Stadium on Friday with Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta in attendance. The event’s poster was unveiled on December 29, and CM Gupta was briefed by Art and Culture Minister Kapil Mishra about the festival’s schedule and related activities. Esteemed thinkers, writers, and speakers from across India will participate in the festival from January 2 to 4, organized by the Delhi Government and Suruchi Prakashan at the Major Dhyan Chand Stadium.
The festival will include book releases, cultural presentations, and a poets’ conclave. Cabinet colleague Ashish Sood, along with MLAs Abhay Verma and Rajkumar Bhatia, were among the distinguished guests present at the event. Mishra highlighted that the Delhi government’s Art and Culture Department, in collaboration with a publishing house, will host the country’s largest literature and cultural festival annually under the Ministry of Culture, branded as the ‘Delhi Shabdotsav.’
Over 100 prominent speakers, including National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Sunil Ambekar, Manmohan Vaidya, and Sachchidanand Joshi, will participate in the event. Additionally, there will be more than 40 book releases, six cultural performances, and two poets’ meets. Students from nearly 40 universities in Delhi NCR will also take part in the cultural activities. The festival will feature programs like Bharatnatyam, Kathak, Bhajan Sandhya, Kavi Sammelan, and Somnath Jyotirlinga Darshan.
Delhi Chief Minister will inaugurate the festival, with Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami and Chhattisgarh Home Minister Vijay Sharma also attending the event.
