Delhi Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra recently checked an under-construction boat intended for the Yamuna cruise. The boat, named “Yamuna River Santosh Cruise,” is part of the Yamuna Boat Tourism and Ferry Infrastructure Development Project. This project, located in North East Delhi, aims to offer a new green tourism experience and enhance connectivity through eco-friendly river travel.
Mishra mentioned that the Goa-type recreational boat cruises and ferry services are scheduled to start next month. The project, situated between Sonia Vihar and Jagatpur, is expected to provide Delhiites with a unique recreational experience. The cruise boat is set to depart from Mumbai on January 20, reaching Delhi in 3 to 4 days for further preparations before its launch in February.
The Delhi government, under Mishra’s leadership, is focused on providing an international luxury experience at affordable prices. Efforts are being made to promote inland water transport and urban tourism through the development of facilities along a 6-7 km round-trip corridor. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta is expected to inaugurate the project next month, further boosting the tourism and recreational activities along the Yamuna River.
