The Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) has reached a significant milestone by issuing more than 10 lakh Pink Saheli National Common Mobility Cards (NCMC) within just 90 days of launch. Transport Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh praised this achievement, calling it one of the fastest digital mobility rollouts in the country.
Singh expressed immense satisfaction at surpassing the 10-lakh mark in such a short time, emphasizing the importance of providing this facility to women. He highlighted that the Pink Saheli Card is not just a travel card but a step towards convenience, empowerment, and integrated mobility for women in Delhi.
The Minister assured that every eligible woman desiring the card would receive it, mentioning the readiness of DTC to scale up operations if demand exceeds expectations. Singh also stressed that the digital transition would enhance public transport planning and governance, leading to improved bus deployment and route optimization in Delhi.
Launched on March 2, the Pink Saheli NCMC Card aims to offer women commuters in Delhi a modern and hassle-free mode of free travel on DTC buses. This initiative, based on the NCMC framework, aligns with the Delhi Government’s commitment to accessible and technology-enabled public transport under Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s leadership.
Singh highlighted the broader vision of citizen-focused governance advocated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, emphasizing the Delhi government’s dedication to delivering transparent and improved mobility services. The Pink Saheli Card, beyond free bus travel, can be used across various NCMC-enabled systems like Delhi Metro and RRTS, providing a seamless mobility experience for women commuters in Delhi.
