A Delhi University student has been apprehended by the police for possessing hydroponic marijuana, also known as “OG,” worth nearly Rs 20 lakh. Authorities disclosed that the accused not only sold the illicit substance but also distributed it to college students in the capital. The arrest was carried out by the Anti-Narcotics Squad of the North-West District Police during a targeted operation in the Vijay Nagar area.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, North-West, Akanksha Yadav, revealed that specific intelligence led to the arrest of a young man involved in the illegal trade of hydroponic marijuana. The police acted on information that the accused was selling the premium-grade narcotic substance in the area. The accused, identified as 22-year-old Jasim Siyadul Farsan, was caught with 195 grams of hydroponic marijuana during the operation.
The seized contraband, valued at around Rs 20 lakh in the international market, prompted the immediate arrest of the suspect under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The accused, a student pursuing a Bachelor of Arts program at Satyawati College, confessed to engaging in the narcotics trade for financial gains. He allegedly supplied the drug to customers, including students, based on demand.
Police officials described hydroponic marijuana, known as OG, as a potent and high-quality narcotic substance that commands a premium price in the illicit market. The accused had reportedly targeted young consumers, particularly students, as potential buyers. A case has been registered at Model Town Police Station under Section 20 of the NDPS Act, with ongoing efforts to trace the broader network associated with the accused.
