Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi recently launched various police welfare and infrastructure initiatives in Gandhinagar, amounting to a substantial investment of Rs 273 crore. These projects aim to enhance living conditions for police families and improve law enforcement facilities throughout the state. Sanghavi, during the inauguration, emphasized the government’s dedication to the welfare of Gujarat Police under Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel’s guidance, ensuring a strong response to any challenges faced by the police force.

The Gujarat Budget-2026 includes groundbreaking provisions for police families, with over 20,400 new residential units approved for the first time in the country’s history. The Police Housing Corporation has been allocated a budget of Rs 1,500 crore, showcasing the government’s unwavering commitment to police welfare. Sanghavi also commended the Gujarat Police for their recent successes, including securing convictions against more than 45 drug mafias within a span of 90 days, demonstrating their proactive stance against drug trafficking and organized crime.

Police Housing State Minister Kamlesh Patel stressed the vital link between security and development, highlighting the Gujarat Police’s motto of ‘Service, Security, and Peace’ as a testament to the officers’ round-the-clock dedication. The newly inaugurated projects encompass an urban police station, residential units in Gandhinagar’s Infocity, and housing units at Sector-27 Police Headquarters, equipped with modern amenities and facilities to support the police force.

In Bhadkodara, a jail complex worth Rs 158.58 crore is currently in progress, featuring various facilities such as a district jail, high-security jail, and an open jail, along with amenities like a library, hospital, and vocational training center. These projects, inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister Sanghavi, are expected to significantly enhance the well-being of police personnel and their families, contributing to a safer and more secure environment in Gujarat.

Deputy Chief Minister Sanghavi concluded by recognizing the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Finance Minister Kanu Desai, underscoring the government’s commitment to empowering all segments of society, including the police community. The substantial budget allocation of Rs 4.08 lakh crore, presented for the fifth consecutive time, reflects the government’s focus on fostering a developed Gujarat that contributes to a developed India.
