On Maharashtra’s 67th Foundation Day, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde presented a roadmap for the state’s growth, aiming to establish a “New Maharashtra” focused on development and public trust. At a ceremony in Thane, he highlighted plans for Maharashtra to become a $1 trillion economy, emphasizing its industrial prowess and appeal for Foreign Direct Investment. Shinde pointed to key infrastructure projects like the Samruddhi Highway and Metro networks as catalysts for the state’s global competitiveness in the near future.
The Deputy CM also mentioned initiatives such as the HPV vaccination campaign for girls and the establishment of new dialysis centers, underscoring the state’s commitment to healthcare and rural well-being. He stressed the importance of modernizing agriculture practices while preserving traditional seeds through schemes like Jalyukt Shivar. Shinde noted efforts to empower women through education and safety programs like the “Pink Room” initiative and Ladki Bahin Yojana, enabling their participation in the economy.
In his address, Shinde praised the contribution of laborers to Maharashtra’s development, commemorating International Labour Day. He highlighted environmental goals, including a pledge to plant 300 crore trees by 2047. The Deputy CM paid tribute to historical figures and emphasized the significance of Maharashtra Day as a symbol of self-respect and determination. Shinde also spotlighted Thane district’s infrastructural advancements, including the Metro Network and digital governance achievements like the Thane District Collector’s Office’s digital operations ranking.
Wrapping up, Shinde encouraged citizens to engage in the Digital Census and reiterated the administration’s commitment to development over politics. He called for collective efforts to advance Maharashtra into a more prosperous and capable state.
