Actor Dhanush, honored with the Tamil Nadu Government’s State Film Award for Best Actor in 2018 for his role in ‘Vada Chennai’, has shared his appreciation, calling the award a true honor. Following the announcement of the State Film Awards, Dhanush thanked the Government of Tamil Nadu for the recognition and extended congratulations to fellow awardees.
The movie ‘Vada Chennai’, which earned Dhanush the Best Actor award, dominated the awards ceremony by securing victories in seven categories. Notably, the film also received accolades for Best Villain, Best Supporting Actor, Best Music Director, and Best Cinematographer. Aishwarya Rajesh, the female lead in ‘Vada Chennai’, was honored with the Best Actress (Special Prize) for her outstanding performances.
Vishnu Vishal, awarded the Best Actor (Special Prize) for his role in ‘Ratsasan’, marked his 17th year in the industry with gratitude towards the Tamil Nadu government. Expressing his thanks, he acknowledged the honor and the special place the film holds in his heart. The Best Picture title was clinched by ‘Pariyaerum Perumal’, with ‘Kadaikutty Singam’ and ’96’ securing second and third place respectively.
The Tamil Nadu government recently announced the State Film Awards for a span of seven years, with each winner set to receive a gold medal, memento, and certificate. The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on February 13 at Kalaivanar Arangam this year.
