The sequel to Aditya Dhar’s “Dhurandhar” features the iconic song “Oye Oye” from the 1995 film “Trimurti.” Actress Sonam Khan, who was part of the track, reminisced about the past when the song was originally released, feeling nostalgic after watching it on the big screen. She shared her memories on Instagram, recalling how people used to shout ‘Oye Oye’ in public transport during the 90s.
Sonam revealed that she was not the initial choice for the movie “Tridev” and was brought in last minute while shooting for another film. Recalling her first day on the set of “Tridev,” she mentioned the unexpected multiple costume changes during the shoot of the song “Tirchi Topiwale.” Despite the unplanned outfits, the song became a massive hit.
The actress expressed her surprise at the song’s popularity, mentioning a moment when her driver informed her about people shouting ‘Oye Oye’ in public places as a sign of its success. This incident made her realize the extent of the song’s reach in a time before social media, relying solely on word-of-mouth.
