Director Jai Amar Singh’s comedy family drama, ‘The Mummy Returns’, starring actor Krishna, commenced filming in Chennai with a grand pooja ceremony. The movie is produced by P J Kishore for Pepin de Raisin Productions. The launch event saw the entire film crew and notable personalities from the Tamil film industry, including Vishnuvardhan and I. Ahmed.
Sources reveal that ‘The Mummy Returns’ follows a son’s quest to revive his mother after she awakens from a prolonged coma. In a blend of emotions and humor, he recreates the 1990s world she once knew with his friends’ help, leading to amusing chaos. Director Jai Amar Singh aims to craft the film as a wholesome family entertainer with comedic elements.
Apart from Krishna, the film features actors like Devadarshini, Swathi Muppala, Kinsley, Lollu Sabha Maaran, Bjorn, and Deepa in pivotal roles. The production plans to shoot the movie in two schedules in and around Chennai. Director Jai Amar Singh, known for his comedy inclination, believes ‘The Mummy Returns’ will offer audiences a refreshing break from action-packed films, delivering a laughter-filled narrative.
The film’s music will be composed by Sam C S, with editing by Manikandan Balaji and cinematography by Karthik Subramanian.
