The Director of Census and Civil Registration in Haryana recently met with Governor Prof Asim Kumar Ghosh at Raj Bhavan. During the meeting, detailed information about the upcoming Census 2027 activities was shared, along with the release of an official calendar outlining the census schedule for the state.
Starting from April 16 to April 30, citizens in Haryana can utilize the self-enumeration facility to input their information through a dedicated portal using mobile phones, tablets, or computers. Following this, from May 1 to May 30, enumerators will conduct household listing operations across the state.
Governor Ghosh praised the efforts of Lalit Jain, Director of the Census Department, and his team. Emphasizing the significance of the Census, Governor Ghosh highlighted that the data collected will play a crucial role in shaping Haryana’s development policies. He encouraged citizens to actively participate in the self-enumeration process, emphasizing its convenience and time-saving benefits.
The Government of India has initiated Phase I of Census 2027, known as Houselisting and Housing Census (HLO), from April 1. This marks the beginning of India’s largest administrative and statistical exercise, featuring digital data capture and self-enumeration. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also participated in the self-enumeration process and urged all Indian residents to engage in the Census activities.
