Director Vikram Bhatt stressed the importance of filmmakers honoring the culture and beliefs of the countries they work in. During the promotion of his recent film ‘Haunted 3D,’ he highlighted the need for filmmakers to be considerate of each country’s cultural norms. Bhatt acknowledged the Central Board of Film Certification’s (CBFC) leniency in certifying films, allowing some explicit content while maintaining cultural sensitivities.
Bhatt explained that while there is more creative freedom in Indian cinema now, there is also a sense of self-censorship among filmmakers. He noted that filmmakers need to navigate what is acceptable within the cultural boundaries of the country. Bhatt emphasized the significance of upholding India’s cultural values in the entertainment industry, ensuring that films align with the principles of public entertainment in the country.
‘Haunted 3D,’ featuring actors like Mimoh Chakraborty and Chetna Pande, offers a cutting-edge 3D experience to enhance the horror elements for viewers. The film, currently screening in theaters, leverages advanced technology to deliver a more immersive horror experience for audiences.
