A man named Asgar Samsuddin Ansari was arrested in Mumbai’s Chembur area for allegedly stalking and molesting minor girls as they played in a local housing society. The Chembur Police took action promptly after a formal complaint was filed against the accused.
In a separate incident on April 15, Mohammad Ayaz, also known as Tanveer, was apprehended in Maharashtra’s Amravati district for exploiting around 180 minor girls and recording over 350 obscene videos. Ayaz reportedly lured girls into a “love trap” before taking them to cities like Mumbai and Pune, where he filmed objectionable videos.
Anil Bonde, a BJP Rajya Sabha MP, submitted details to the Rural Superintendent of Police, Vishal Anand, revealing that Ayaz targeted minors through social media platforms like WhatsApp and Snapchat. Following public outrage, Ayaz was taken into custody, and his mobile phone, containing objectionable videos, was seized for investigation.
Authorities are probing whether Ayaz shared the videos with others or a broader criminal network. The Cyber Cell is actively involved in tracking any online circulation of the videos. The incidents have sparked protests and a shutdown in Paratwada, with police arresting four additional suspects, hinting at a potential wider network involved in the crimes.
