The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) organized its South Zone Youth Wing Conference in Virudhunagar district, drawing a significant number of party members and young volunteers from southern Tamil Nadu. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin were present at the event, emphasizing the party’s stance on language, social justice, and education. Chief Minister Stalin reiterated the party’s commitment to safeguarding Tamil identity and opposing the imposition of Hindi through national policies.
The Chief Minister highlighted the historical threats faced by the Tamil language and praised the Dravidian movement for its efforts in protecting it. He expressed concerns about attempts to impose Hindi under the guise of the three-language policy, emphasizing the importance of preserving Tamil identity. Additionally, Chief Minister Stalin criticized centralized education policies, particularly citing issues with the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) that disproportionately affect students from rural and economically weaker backgrounds.
Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin encouraged youth volunteers to strengthen the party at the grassroots level and promote messages of social justice, state rights, and linguistic pride. The conference forms part of the DMK’s preparations for the upcoming Assembly elections, aiming to energize party members and garner support. Party leaders emphasized the vital role of the youth wing in upholding Dravidian ideology and opposing policies perceived as harmful to Tamil Nadu’s interests.
