Additional Director General of the NCC Directorate Maharashtra, Major General Vivek Tyagi, announced plans for a drone training center in Nagpur for NCC Cadets. The initiative aims to empower youth for nation-building, with a focus on youth empowerment and exchange programs with Mauritius. The delegation from Mauritius showed interest in joint training programs, including disaster management and youth empowerment.
General Tyagi highlighted the challenges of land allocation in Mumbai for NCC activities. Efforts are underway to secure land for an NCC camp in Mumbai, with positive responses from government officials. Additionally, plans are in progress to establish India’s first Drone Training camp in Nagpur for NCC cadets, offering advanced training opportunities across Army, Air Force, and Indian Navy disciplines.
The first batch of 170 cadets from Maharashtra will attend the drone training academy in Nagpur, where they will also receive cybersecurity training to address modern cyber threats. Collaborations with various companies for cyber training are on the horizon to enhance cadets’ skills in this area.
