East Bengal FC continued their winning streak with a dominant 5-0 victory against Kickstart FC at Kalyani Stadium. Fazila Ikwaput scored twice (15’, 73’), while Resty Nanziri (45+2’), Sulanjana Raul (60’), and Astam Oraon (62’) each added a goal for East Bengal. The Moshal Girls now lead the table with 15 points from five matches, maintaining a two-point advantage over their closest competitors.
From the outset, East Bengal displayed control over the game and quickly took the lead through Fazila’s goal in the 15th minute. The team extended their lead just before halftime when Resty found the net after an assist from Fazila. In the second half, East Bengal’s hunger for goals was evident as they continued to dominate the match.
Fazila’s attempt from outside the box led to Sulanjana scoring the third goal with a header in the 60th minute. Shortly after, Astam added another goal by converting a precise cross. Fazila completed her brace in the 73rd minute, securing East Bengal’s comprehensive victory.
East Bengal FC clinched their first IWL title in the 2024-25 season by defeating Gokulam Kerala in the final. Gokulam Kerala, the most successful club in the league, has won multiple titles since the league’s inception in 2016-17.
